Submitted on 6/29/2018 Review title of GraemeBeautiful sound, easy setup, great integration Setup is a snap. Gorgeous sound - integration with iHeart Radio and Tunein is excellent, Bluetooth streaming also is a snap. Smarthome integration is easy with IFTTT (I can do all the controls that our Alexa can).
Significantly more responsive than the Echo Dot - microphones can hear commands from across the house. Skype calling is easy and responsive - I like the ability to call both phone lines and Skype. Calendar integration is good - I would like Microsoft to enable account recognition, as well as perhaps an authorization voice print so that one can lock off things like calendar in more public settings. Overall this was a good first one - you just need to make it easier for people to understand the power - most people need their technology spoon fed.
Submitted on Review title of JeffreyLoving Cortana Invoke. 1 year later. It's Christmas 2018 - and after looking at all the smart speakers Invoke is still the best! I got this for my mom.
She lives alone and I worry about her. She had listened to the same radio station all the time because she hated changing the channel, now there's no problem.
She's listening to music all day. She can set reminders for herself, make her grocery list, and call when she needs to. I feel better knowing she can call me even if she couldn't get to the phone. I already had an Echo, which is nice - but the Invoke is way better.
I love that I can make calls from it and don't have to install crazy apps to order pizza. I love that I can play my Spotify music seamlessly.
I especially love that it is synched with calendar, phone etc. I'm excited that Invoke and Echo work together/play nice together. Submitted on Review title of KarlQuality speaker, useful product for the home.
Bought this for my wife for Christmas. We are transitioning into Spotify from our beloved Groove subscription (RIP) and overall are impressed with the sound quality. It fills the room and then some. We have made a few Skype calls and were impressed with call quality, but puzzled by the contact integration.
She has Skype connected to her Outlook contacts but it seemed to only call mobile numbers of people who also had a Skype account; it didn't recognize the others without it. The kids get a kick out of the random facts and jokes Cortana spouts out.
It's helpful to have a mute button when it's time for the kids to stop talking to the speaker. We have used it to set reminders and timers. That is useful. Overall impressed with design and functional quality.
Hope to see more skills added. Submitted on 12/7/2017 Review title of DeepWinterIf MS & HK cont to support it just may surpass Echo I attempted to set it up on my Lumia 950xl and it crashed multiple times with the phone app. Had success with my laptop. (Note to self by a wireless USB for my desk top) Since then I'm mesmerized by it - wonderful sound, MIC's pick up voice clear across the room. She seems more human than Siri or Alexa. The only downer is she needs more application support! Would be nice if she were synced with Windows Media Center and had the capability to play music off your network or cloud drives.
Submitted on 12/3/2017 Review title of DarrenAwesome Sound Quality More impressed than I thought I would be. I love the sound quality! It can easily handle pumping very nice sounding music to a very large room. If you are familiar with Sonos devices, this is comparable quality.
The integrated Skype calling works flawlessly. You get free calling to any phone when you activate the device. It looks up businesses easily and calls them.
Hopefully the skill set for this device can be increased rapidly. So far I like it far better then my Amazon Echo.
